The decision to attend college may be difficult, but it could affect the entire course of your future. From providing you with knowledge and experience in your chosen field to helping you make connections to potential employers, higher education could be the key to reaching the career you have always desired.
Looking back on her time at Stautzenberger College, Julia Malanchuk knows that the effort she put in then allowed her to reach the career she has today. “Going to college changed my life,” she says.

Ms. Malanchuk has always loved animals, but she was finally inspired to pursue a career in animal health by her mother. She enrolled in the veterinary technician program at Maumee campus and found additional inspiration there from her instructors, Sheryl Lewis and Kelly Roscoe. Ms. Malanchuk completed her externship at Spring Meadows Animal Hospital and will be walking for graduation in April of this year. She currently works at Ann Arbor Animal Hospital and could not be happier with the career decision she has made.

Our twenty-four-month veterinary technician program is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association and blends classroom instruction with clinical experience. Courses cover topics such as veterinary medical terminology, husbandry and diseases of large animals, radiology, pharmacology, veterinary office management, and more. Upon completion of this program, students could be prepared to sit for the Veterinary Technician National Exam and gain certification as well as be successful in a professional veterinary context.

We hope Ms. Malanchuk's story inspired you.
