Graduate Highlight - Surgical Technology Program - Alison Edwards
On December 21, 2018

Does real-world training sound more exciting than just sitting in a classroom?  Stautzenberger College’s surgical technology program contains classroom study and a 160-hour externship at a hospital or other medical facility.  Alison Edwards did her externship at Alliance Community Hospital.
A surgical technician is an exhilarating career supporting physicians, nurses, and patients in a fast-paced work setting.   Your work is critical to a successful surgery. Although you might not be performing the surgery, you will be directly assisting those who are. Without you, the medical team might not be able to perform as efficiently or safely.
It is also an in-demand career.   According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, demand for surgical technologists is expected to grow by twelve percent between 2016 and 2026.1

Evening program options available at the Brecksville Campus for some starts.
