Graduate Highlight - Jessica Coakley

Jessica Coakley thanks her children for inspiring her to go to college.

Why are you considering a new career field? Many cite earning higher salaries, feeling dissatisfaction with their current jobs, or pursuing dreams as their reasons for changing careers. However, Jessica Coakley was inspired by her children to learn medical billing and coding.

Ms. Coakley's life was hectic and full of challenges when she was considering a new career. “I had four children, two jobs, and an unhealthy pregnancy and recovery,” she says. Still, she wanted to be a positive role model for her children and support them with a rewarding career. That's why she enrolled in the Diploma in Medical Office Billing and Coding program at Stautzenberger College's Maumee campus. By keeping her childrens' future in mind, she pressed on through her coursework and an externship at Advantage Billing & Cash Flow. She graduated from the program in March of 2019, ready to provide a better life for her family. Upon graduation, she was hired by Advantage Billing & Cash Flow!  We try to place you in an externship where you will want to eventually be employed.
