Graduate Highlight - Anthony Horton
On May 24, 2019

What if you could serve your community in multiple ways? For Stautzenberger College graduate Anthony Horton, serving in the military was not enough. Once he had completed his service, he began a new career that would allow him to keep giving back to others.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, Anthony Horton served until 2015. He is also a graduate of Vatterott College's medical assisting program. Upon completion of this program, Mr. Horton decided to further his education at Stautzenberger College by enrolling in the Associate of Allied Health Degree Program (now known as the Healthcare Administration Associate Degree Program). Mr. Horton says he chose the medical industry because there were a lot of medical professionals in his family and he wanted to do something that would last.

While at Brecksville Campus, Mr. Horton was influenced by instructor Kelly O’ Connell. Knowing that the industry was in great need of medical assistants, she pushed him to succeed in this career field. Mr. Horton stated that “With the right support system, school becomes a lot easier.” Mr. Horton has not only served our country but also continues to provide a public service at Rockside Medical Center, where he currently works as a medical assistant.

We hope Mr. Horton's story inspired you.
