Career Goals

“You can be anything you want in life.” Sound familiar? Whether it was from a teacher, family member, or even a commercial, you may have heard that you could do something great with your life. The only question is, how do you get there? With bills to pay, family to care for, and a number of other responsibilities, studying for a new career and making that change may sound impossible. We're here to tell you it's not. Below are a few ways to begin:

• Pick the career you truly want: Finding a career path that interests you is critical to your success. To remain focused and feel rewarded for your efforts, select a career that you enjoy, not necessarily the one that pays the most to start. We offer programs for a wide variety of career fields that could give you opportunities to grow.
• Do not let others discourage you: Even friends and family members could, at times, dissuade you from following your dream. It's important that your career decision is your own and is followed through, even if others are unsupportive or envious.
• Focus on what is within your control: Instead of worrying about the future, concentrate on what you could do right now. You could do more research on potential careers, make an appointment with us to discuss your options, or discuss your work schedule with your employer to see how you could accommodate a career program.
• Develop yourself into the person you want to become: If you aren't where you want to be in life, don't be afraid to work toward it. For example, you could improve your grades by taking advantage of our free tutoring.
• Remember that you're never too old or young to follow your passion: Whether you graduated high school last year or decades ago, you belong at Stautzenberger College. Our students are from different walks in life and all seek to live up to their potential.
• Know that you are not alone in your journey: If you ever feel overwhelmed, just reach out to us. Our staff and faculty members, as well as other students and alumni, are here to help you. We could answer your questions about homework, financial aid, employment, and more. Our Student Services team even helps students find solutions to issues unrelated to school.¹
