Dr. Agustin's resume is extensive. He was part of a committee that established the criteria for the primary sonography examination given by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in 2004.
Since 2005, he has maintained a faculty position in biology at the Cuyahoga Community College. He has also performed site visits with institutional and programmatic accrediting bodies like JRCDMS, ABHES, and ACICS. Dr. Agustin even helped develop the ABHES accreditation criteria for sonography programs. In 2015, he became a contributor to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists item writer group. The National Medical Association has hosted him for lectures at  conferences and annual conventions in New York and Texas. Additionally, Dr. Agustin reviews text materials in sonography prior to publication by Lippincott and Williams.

All of this hard work has earned him numerous accolades. The Career Education Corporation recognized him as “Educator of the Year” in the health division in 2007 as well as a “High Achievement” educator in 2009. The Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography also nominated him for the “Distinguished Educator” award in both 2013 and 2014. However, Dr. Agustin considers his greatest achievements to be the successes of his students. His graduates now practice in hospitals and states as far as Hawaii, Oregon, and California. He is proud to say that several even hold positions as lead sonographers and heads of their departments.

Dr. Agustin believes that the expansion of medical sonography is crucial. In 2015, he became the Brecksville campus program director and created a CAAHEP-accredited program.
