In today’s ever-changing health field, the job titles of Massage Therapist and Personal Trainer are becoming increasingly important. Today’s massage therapist not only administers health-benefitting massage techniques, but these professionals also communicate with doctors, chiropractors, and physical therapists on a regular basis in an effort to provide patients with the most comprehensive health and wellness coverage possible. Personal fitness trainers, on the other hand, help individuals develop and maintain healthy lifestyles through targeted exercise programs, support, and advice.
In order to equip the student with the skills necessary to compete in these challenging fields, Stautzenberger College has developed a Massage Therapy diploma program and both an associate degree and diploma program for those interested in becoming personal fitness trainers. Our campus in Maumee, Ohio (near Toledo, Ohio) houses on-site facilities that are equipped to provide the ‘hands-on’ training that is essential to each program.
As a Massage Therapy student at Stautzenberger College, you will learn firsthand the skills needed to operate your own successful private practice. In our student-operated massage clinic, you will develop what has become the art of massage (while also acting as the owner of your own business) by handling actual clients as they arrive for appointments. You’ll also be given the opportunity to learn essential skills, such as taking client health profiles, developing SOAP charts, and handling payments and offering receipts under the supervision of your instructor.
The Personal Fitness Trainer program at Stautzenberger College provides students with foundational training in exercise programming, interpersonal communication and marketing, in addition to the skills required to succeed in commercial, corporate, and private personal fitness training environments.
