If you’ve ever suffered through a hot night with a broken air conditioner, you know how important this degree can be.  Always interested in the trades fields, Bradley worked full-time while also attending classes at night here at Stautzenberger.  He credits his hard work and the wonderful, helpful instructors in the program for his success in such a necessary field!

What you Learn in Heating, Venting, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration

In HVAC/R, your classes focus on skilled work including Craft Skills and Trade Skills.  You will also take classes like HVAC/R Essential Service Task and Piping, Fundamentals of Welding & Heat Pumps, and Troubleshooting HVAC/R.  In these classes, you will learn:

  • Basic safety rules for construction areas, proper procedures for hand and power tools, and material handling
  • Construction and Trade Mathematics showing how geometry and metrics are used in the field
  • The basics of the services in HVAC/R including things like leak detection and proper pipes
  • Necessary welding skills
  • Beginning skills in determining the issue in heating and air conditioning systems

How Our Graduate Became a HVAC/R graduate

Our classes prepare a student to know the basics of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.  Once receiving your diploma, you are prepared for an entry-level position in the HVAC/R field.
