At Stautzenberger College, we offer a medical assisting program to help you develop the skills employers seek in new hires. Upon completion of Stautzenberger College’s medical assisting program, graduates can be qualified for entry-level positions in physicians’ offices, medical centers, medical billing offices, and hospitals.
Medical Assisting Classes
The Medical Assistant program prepares graduates to provide a blend of clerical and clinical services to physicians and other medical personnel. The Medical Assisting program addresses both clinical and administrative topics, and includes an externship following completion of all required course work.
What Medical Assistants Do
Medical Assistants function as members of the health care delivery team and perform administrative and clinical procedures. During a single visit, they are often the first and last contact a patient has with the staff. An efficient medical assistant helps keep everything running smoothly.
Medical Assistant Career Outlook
Now is a great time to enter the health care field! According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2014-15 Edition, employment of medical assistants is expected to grow by 29%, much faster than the average for all occupations through 2022.
The Medical Assistant diploma program provides students with a basic educational foundation for becoming a medical assistant in today’s healthcare industry. The normal time to complete the Medical Assisting diploma program for a full-time student is 18 months. Upon successful completion of this program, the graduate will receive a diploma.
