Classes in the Medical Office Technology Program
The program is designed to help you learn computer billing applications, administrative procedures, medical law, ICD and CPT coding, insurance claims processing, and transcription. General courses in oral communication, written communication, and the humanities are also included to help develop your interpersonal and writing skills, and workplace adaptability.
Career options for graduates of the Medical Office Technology Program
This comprehensive program can help you develop the skills necessary to pursue positions as an entry-level medical office administrative assistant and/or secretary. Employment opportunities will be most prevalent in physicians’ offices, managed health care organizations, and hospitals, among other allied health facilities.
Career Outlook for Medical Office Technology Specialists
The expansion of the industry means this is a great time to enter the health care field! According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2014-15 Edition, employment of medical office administrative assistants and medical secretaries is expected to grow by 36%, much faster than the average for all other occupations through 2022.

At Stautzenberger, we understand the “traditional” class schedule may not fit your schedule. You can choose to take day or evening classes at our Maumee campus. We make it possible to earn your degree while still maintaining work, family and personal responsibilities. Our experienced instructors guide students with a “hands-on” approach to learning so they gain the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed.
The normal completion time for this program for a full-time student is 24 months. Upon completion of this program, graduates will be awarded an Associate of Applied Business degree and be eligible and prepared for taking the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam.
