Stautzenberger College has introduced new healthcare programs to the Brecksville campus.

Medical Assistant Diploma program students are taught a basic educational foundation for becoming a medical assistant in today’s healthcare industry. Upon completion, graduates could be qualified for entry-level positions in physicians’ offices, medical centers, medical billing offices and hospitals. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, employment of medical assistants is expected to grow by 23 percent, much faster than the average for all occupations through 2022.

The Central Sterile Processing Technology Diploma program is designed to prepare students to disinfect, prepare, store and issue both sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment for patient care in healthcare settings. Class include anatomy, physiology, microbiology, surgical instrumentation, medical terminology and inventory management.

The Surgical Technology Associate Degree program combines didactic instruction, hands-on training in the lab and clinical work to prepare students to work as entry-level surgical technicians. The Bureau of Labor Statistics shares that “employment of surgical technologists is projected to grow 15 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations, because advances in medical technology have made surgery safer, and more operations are being done to treat a variety of illnesses and injuries.”

The Medical Lab Technician Associate Degree program is designed to provide students with a balanced education in theory and practice to prepare them with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform critical tests that provide physicians with the data required to diagnose life-threatening diseases.

"The Cleveland area has a very complex medical system and we’re working with medical professionals to provide the programs that address staffing shortages in the area,” said Brecksville Campus President John P. Girard. “As we have done from the beginning, we continue to create programs that train our students to succeed in today’s job market. We are dedicated to servicing the community and our students. Our new programs are shorter in length and the cost to attend our colleges has been reduced to meet every budget.”
